Twin Peaks - Pit of Doom [Demos and Unreleased Tracks] (2023)

Twin Peaks is the name I've performed under for the last 20 years. I know that other bands have come up since with moderate levels of success but I, distinctly, am Twin Peaks. These songs were all recorded between 2006 and 2012 although I recently added the vocals to the song "Hip Star" which was supposed to be a track on what would have been a Twin Peaks chiptune record. But then, instead, I just decided to do a whole separate 8-Bit band called Burlington Hate Factory. Tracks 2 and 8 were demos for the album "Dang High Volt (2006) but most of the songs (Tracks 1, 4-7 and 9-11) were demos for what would become the album "It's My Party and I'll Die if I Want To" (2009) that my friend Evan dug out of the digital dumpster. That album was actually recorded 4 times before we got it right (And Steve, the producer, wants to record it again). I used to make "demos" for my albums that were actually me playing all of the instruments and doing some light mixing as opposed to the 20 other easier ways to make a demo. Then I'd show them to Tom Raggio, Justin Credibly Old, Steve Guzzardo and whoever else was going to be working on the music.

The last track, "This One" was written and recorded in one day in 2012. Newlywed and completely broke, I was writing essays and songs for people on this task-based website and this girl wanted me to write and record a song for her European boyfriend across the sea. I told her that a female singer-songwriter would be a more logical choice but I think she dug my low rates and lack of self-respect. So she gave me some history about their time together and I ran with it. She wanted Disney-style pop and I gave her what sounds like an acoustic Rise Against track but she still kind of liked it. It's not bad.
I've touched up these songs as much as I could but they still sound like demos. I'm happy with it though and I'm glad it's out. Music is not butts. So it should not be just sitting around.

(Note: Reggaeton music is butts)
