None More Black - Live in West Philadelphia (2006)


When I was 19, I applied for an internship at a combination studio and live space unfortunately called 'Philafunk Live' for this guy Todd and one other guy, both professional horn players I think. It was pretty cool. For a few months I got to help wire up a live room and a giant mixing console. We also had gotten a reputation with the famous Joe Hardcore who booked HxCx shows around Philly every weekend, mostly for R5 Productions. Working these matinees, I got to meet and work with lots of cool bands like Shai Hulud, Have Heart and, eventually, None More Black. The set-up in the venue was crazy because the live room was circular and pretty large but the recording booth was upstairs 20 feet above the heads of the bands and with the window facing away from the stage. We asked all the bands that came in if we could record them and they basically always said 'yes'. We had lots of good equipment but the recordings were pretty inconsistent since, every time you wanted to adjust something, you would have to run downstairs and push through the crowd to do so. So the recording quality is what it is. Anyway, the fact that this recording survived until now is kind of a miracle. I think it's pretty cool.

 KFA - Absolution (2025) It's with great pride that today we release the third KFA album "Absolution". Once again, this Doom-inspired HxCx crossover record features me (Jello) on vocals and Megaton on all instruments and programming. Marking an evolution in sound over the past three years, this album differentiates itself both sonically and thematically. The sound of the record is still very Doom and with a lot of early 90's hardcore influence, but the discerning listener will appreciate the influence of Ministry, acid rock and even some NWOBHM on the overall sound picture with confident use of tasteful keyboards, vintage guitar and bass tones and some complex song structures. There's a lot to enjoy. Lyrically, I really dug deep, delving into diverse themes such as Thomas Jefferson, quantum physics, spirituality, work culture and nuisance tourists, all delivered with a greater influence from horror punk vocalists.  Downhill Frenzy - ...Relax, It's Just a Demo (2001)  When I started high school in 2001, there was a short list of bands known to be made up of members of our school, Central High in Philadelphia. The guy I knew from this band (I'm pretty sure) was named Adam and I know he was one of the horn players. I'm sure he's the one who gave me this demo. I can't be certain if I ever saw them play but I know that around the time of this release they had started playing a couple of high-profile ska shows. The one that comes to mind is King Django. I do love this 6-song demo though. It clearly sounds 80% like Less Than Jake but it's got really great energy and the band is pretty tight. I always wanted to see if they released anything else and how I could get it. If anybody knows anything about this band, please tell me in the comments. TWIN PEAKS - "Sings in Old Entish" (2026)

 TWIN PEAKS - "Sings in Old Entish" (2026) So..... Aside from some remastered material (lots more to come!) and a B-Sides album, my main musical project Twin Peaks has not released an album of new music since 2013. So, it has been a very long time. This album itself features songs written as early as 2008 and the recording began in 2023. I played most of the instruments and sang and Tom Raggio played drums. Steve Guzzardo Recorded and mixed the drums and I recorded, produced and mastered the rest of the album. Mainly, the past 13 years have involved just being very busy at work but I've also worked on a number of other musical projects. In any case "Twin Peaks Sings in Old Entish" is finally here! Simply put, this is the best Twin Peaks album. I think the recording sounds really good. I think our performances are on point and every song is a banger.
